Cookie Policy
ThirdSIM · version 6 · effective 19 Sep 2026
This policy explains what ThirdSIM stores in your browser when you visit our website, and how to control it. It sits alongside the Privacy Policy.
The ThirdSIM mobile app does not use cookies. It stores a sign-in token and your preferences on the device itself, and removes them when you sign out.
What a cookie is here
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. We also use two similar browser features — localStorage and sessionStorage — for the same kinds of job. Where this policy says “cookie”, it means all three.
What we use
Strictly necessary. These make the site work and cannot be switched off from here. All of them are set only by us, on this site, and all are SameSite=Lax.
| Name | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
ts_session |
Holds the short-lived access token that keeps you signed in to the customer portal at /my. It is httpOnly, so scripts cannot read it, and it is renewed from ts_refresh in the background. |
About 15 minutes |
ts_refresh |
Renews ts_session without asking you to sign in again. httpOnly. Deleted when you sign out. |
30 days |
ts_device |
Identifies this browser as one of the devices on your account, so you can see and sign out of your sessions. httpOnly. |
2 years |
ts_csrf |
The “submit” half of a double-submit token that protects portal forms against cross-site request forgery. Readable by scripts on purpose; it carries no authority on its own. | 30 days |
ts_refreshed |
A marker set for a moment after ts_session is renewed, so a sign-in that keeps failing sends you to the sign-in page instead of looping. httpOnly. |
10 seconds |
ts_lang |
The language you picked from the menu in the site header, so pages keep showing in it. Set only when you choose a language; otherwise the site follows your browser’s language. | 1 year |
ts_currency |
The currency you picked from the menu in the site header, so prices keep showing in it. It only changes how prices are displayed: every order is charged in US dollars. Set only when you choose a currency. | 1 year |
ts_banner_dismissed |
Remembers your answer to the cookie banner — accepted or rejected. The same name is used in sessionStorage to remember that you closed the site-wide announcement bar, for that browsing session only. |
1 year |
Optional: measurement. One choice covers all of these, and none of them is set unless you press “Accept analytics” and we have configured the tag. They load only after the page is interactive, never before, and they tell us which pages people use and where they give up, in aggregate.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* |
Google Analytics 4, loaded directly or through Google Tag Manager | Distinguishes visitors and sessions | Up to 2 years |
_fbp |
Meta pixel | Attributes a visit to an advert | 3 months |
Google Tag Manager may load further tags, and therefore further cookies, if we configure a container. Anything it loads is covered by the same single choice: it does not run until you accept.
If a tag above is not switched on, none of its cookies are set — and today most installations have none of them on. The strictly necessary names are the ones this site always uses; you can see exactly what is stored in your browser’s developer tools, under Application → Storage.
Your choices
- The banner. The first time you visit, you can accept measurement cookies or choose “Essential only”. There is one optional category, not several: rejecting leaves only the strictly necessary cookies above.
- Change your mind. Use the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer at any time. It reopens the banner, and your new answer replaces the old one.
- Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. If your browser sends either signal we treat it as a rejection, do not show the banner, and load no measurement tag — whatever is stored in
ts_banner_dismissed. - Your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies for a site. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will sign you out of the portal and may stop parts of it working.
Third parties
We do not allow third-party advertising networks to set cookies through our site beyond the measurement tags listed above. Embedded video players (YouTube or Vimeo) may set their own cookies when you press play; we embed them in privacy-enhanced mode where the provider offers it.
Changes
This page always shows the version in force, with its version number and effective date. We keep every earlier version and will send you any of them if you write to support@thirdsim.com. If we add a cookie that is not strictly necessary, we ask for your consent before setting it.
