Acceptable Use Policy
ThirdSIM · version 1 · effective 17 Sep 2026
This policy says what you may and may not do with ThirdSIM data plans, phone numbers and wallet credit. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Breaking it can get your number suspended or your account closed.
We keep it short and specific, because a rule nobody reads protects nobody.
Use it lawfully
Do not use the service to do anything illegal where you are, where the number is registered, or where we are. That includes fraud, stalking or harassment, threats, distributing malware, child sexual abuse material, or handling stolen data.
Do not use it to impersonate another person or business, or to hide who you are in order to deceive someone.
Do not abuse phone numbers
This is the rule people break most often, so it is written plainly.
Do not use a ThirdSIM number to receive verification or one-time codes for accounts on services that do not allow virtual numbers — WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, banks, social networks, marketplaces, gig-work platforms and similar. Those services detect and block virtual numbers, and many treat the attempt as fraud.
Our system watches for this. If a number receives several third-party verification-code messages within an hour, it is suspended automatically, flagged for review, and an alert is raised for our team. If review confirms the abuse, the number is released and your account may be closed.
Also forbidden on our numbers:
- bulk or unsolicited messaging, marketing blasts, or any traffic that looks like spam to a carrier;
- robocalls, auto-dialling, or recorded-message campaigns;
- reselling access to the number, sharing it with a group, or running a code-receiving service;
- traffic pumping, artificially inflating call minutes, or any scheme to generate revenue from call termination;
- masking a call’s origin to defeat caller identification.
Virtual numbers are for real conversations: client calls, work texts, staying reachable while you travel.
Emergency calls
ThirdSIM numbers do not reliably reach emergency services. They run over the internet, they are not tied to your physical address, and an emergency operator cannot locate you from them. Never rely on one in an emergency. Always keep a working local mobile line or landline for emergency calls.
Do not abuse data plans
Data plans are for personal use on the device the eSIM is installed on. Hotspot and tethering are fine unless a plan page says otherwise.
Do not:
- use a plan for continuous commercial traffic such as a server, a VPN exit node, a proxy service, crypto mining, or a permanent site connection;
- share, resell or sublet a plan, or operate a device that hands the connection to many unrelated users;
- attempt to circumvent a plan’s data limit, its validity period or a carrier’s fair-use rules.
Where usage is far outside normal personal use and is degrading service for others, we may throttle it, end the plan, or ask you to move to a suitable product. We will tell you first where we can.
Do not abuse the wallet or promotions
Do not:
- open more than one account, or use false details, to claim referral credit or a promotional discount more than once;
- use the send-credit feature to trade credit for money outside ThirdSIM, or to move value on someone else’s behalf;
- use stolen payment details, or make a payment you intend to charge back after receiving the product.
We may withhold or reverse credit obtained this way and close the accounts involved.
Do not attack the service
Do not probe, scan, overload or attempt to break into our systems, our API or our providers’. Do not scrape the site beyond what a normal visitor does. Do not reverse-engineer the app to extract credentials.
If you find a security flaw, tell us at support@thirdsim.com before you tell anyone else. We will work with you, and we will not pursue anyone who reports in good faith and does not access other people’s data.
What we do about it
Depending on what happened, we may:
- Warn you and ask you to stop.
- Suspend the number or the plan involved, immediately where a carrier requires it.
- Suspend the account, which signs out every session.
- Release the number, in which case it goes into quarantine and cannot be recovered.
- Close the account and refuse future service.
- Report the matter where the law requires it.
Where we can, we tell you what happened and give you a chance to explain. Automated suspensions — the verification-code rule above is the common one — are always reviewed by a person when you ask.
Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, open a ticket or write to support@thirdsim.com. Tell us the number or order reference and what you were actually doing. We read every appeal.
Reporting abuse
If you receive a call or message from a ThirdSIM number that breaks this policy, send us the number, the time and a screenshot at support@thirdsim.com. We act on it.
